Cecilia Wallerstedt

Cecilia Wallerstedt has a background as a teacher in music and mathematics in upper-secondary school. She has a Ph.D. in Arts Education from the Academy of Music and Drama, University of Gothenburg. In parallel to her Ph.D. education she worked in a cross-faculty (Humanities, Arts, and Education) research project on young children's learning in the arts in pre- and primary school. During the last years, she has worked in a project funded by the EU (Framework 7) on technology-transformed musical improvisation and composition with young children and in a post doc project on how young people learn to play songs in the new media ecology, particularly addressing the nature and functions of new notational systems shared among learners over the Internet.
